Robust and lightweight, the Waterlock prevents water from returning to the engine exhaust and significantly reduces noise caused by engine exhaust gases. NLP Vetus waterlocks have two chambers, separated by a horizontal plate with an ascending pipe in the middle. Compared to single-chamber waterlocks, these new NLP waterlocks provide much more effective noise reduction. Since the upper chamber can rotate approximately 360° and, since the inlet and outlet connections are both 360° rotatable, the installation of the exhaust system in the engine chamber (always too narrow! ), has become much simpler. - Suitable for exhaust pipe with internal diameter of ø 51 mm, - Both chambers are equipped with a drain plug (for winterizing) and strips for fixing in the boat are also provided. - Capacity 4.5L HOW DO THESE WATERLOCKS WORK? The swivelling inlet connection is connected to the engine exhaust manifold via a VETUS exhaust pipe. Exhaust gases, mixed with cooling water, are "squeezed" from the lower chamber to the upper chamber, using the rising pipe. From there, the gases continue their way outwards, via the outlet fitting on the top. This outlet coupling is connected to the exhaust outlet on the transom, also using a VETUS exhaust pipe. For even better soundproofing, we recommend installing a VETUS silencer and gooseneck in the exhaust pipe after the NLP waterlock.
